Presently
Under a tree in its shadow on a hill
a perfect summer wind rustles the leaves
Dragonflies dance in the air playfully
like fairies in the field of scattered purple weeds
I sit cross-legged amidst the crispy August grass
Milwaukee’s red lighthouse lurks on the edge
of the great Lake Michigan
A more perfect day you cannot ask
Bicycles, bees, birds, boats, and blooms
Cicada screams and daydreams
A bright future looms
Times like these please with no fees
The only price is time
The only time is now
And again
And again
A friendly butterfly has fluttered into the scene
At constant battle with the wind
Its delicate wings can only handle so much
I can identify with her
A pair of fisherman setup to lure their prey
A grim fate may await certain scaled swimmers
on this perfect summer day
