A New Day

Brian Hibbard September 9, 2014

I awake.
My Mind a blank fate.

An optimistic wish list of opportunities floods the room alongside the refreshing light of a new day.
The Venetian blind shadows dance on the floor in a cool September breeze.
I dance to the shower.
The radio alarm chose well this morning.

The failures of yesterday wash away down the drain with the rest of the dirt.

Steep the brain in a pot of hot, black coffee.
Really let that invigorating bean juice soak in.
A good caffeine drug hug keeps that positive energy flowing into the lunch hour.

After a few mugs of drugs, now is a good time for a bowl of steel-cut hope meal.
When mixed properly with the coffee, it creates an optimistic sludge that coats your insides with hope and change.
Like the Obama of breakfast options.
I don't recommend the alternative of bacon and eggs-istential dilemmas.

Don't forget to take your prescription anti-depressants before you leave the house, if you have a long commute or work in a cubicle.
Now brush those teeth and dress to impress!
We've got a life to live.
